[Conference] TINFIN Conference / COST Session / COST FinAI WG2 meeting

Dear COST FinAI Members,

we are inviting You to the “Technology, Innovation and Stability: New Directions in Finance (TINFIN)” International Scientific Conference, in Zagreb, Croatia, 5 – 6 May 2022 (hybrid event). The Conference is organised by the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Zagreb, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and COST Action CA19130 FinAI – Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance – Towards a Transparent Financial Industry.

It aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to present their research and discuss topics covering current challenges and roadmap for the financial industry as well as traditional framework in finance. Topics include, but are not limited to:
• Artificial intelligence in finance
• Consumer finance, over indebtedness and payments
• COVID-19 recovery for financial institutions and markets
• Cybersecurity and financial crime
• Financial integration in Europe
• Financial markets and risk management
• Financial stability, financial regulation and supervision
• FinTech and digital finance
• Future banking
• Monetary policy in a low interest rate environment
• Sustainable finance

The Conference will host a COST Session (on May 5th) and a meeting of the COST Action CA19130 FinAI – Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance – Towards a Transparent Financial Industry Working Group 2: Transparent versus Black Box Decision-Support Models in the Financial Industry (on May 6th). The event is of a hybrid type, thus participants could apply for an online conference and authors will have the opportunity to present their work also in our virtual sessions. In order to present their research at the Conference authors can send an abstract and/or full paper. Conference keynote titled “Manifold Destiny: Unsupervised Machine Learning for the Social Sciences” will be held by professor James Ming Chen (Michigan State University, College of Law, USA).

Invited talk titled “Machine learning and artificial intelligence in Finance – with applications to optimal trading strategies” will be given by professor Jörg Osterrieder (Zurich University of Applied Sciences – ZHAW, School of Engineering, Switzerland).

Conference Participation Fees: Participants are waived of any registration fees to attend the event.

Conference Proceedings:
Abstracts (500-700 words) will be published in the Electronic Book of Abstracts.
Full papers (up to 5000 words) will be published in Electronic Conference Proceedings.
Conference Proceedings infer an ISSN reference.

Abstract notification: 15 days from submission
